Urges the City and County of Honolulu to preserve existing affordable housing and create new affordable housing opportunities within transit-oriented development zones along the Honolulu Rail Transit Project corridor.

Calls for establishment of family-oriented support services, health centers, community centers, and retail services related to healthy living within the transit-oriented development zones.

Requests creation of community gardens within the transit-oriented development zones.

Finds that preservation and expansion of affordable housing in these zones will create more economically vibrant and socially equitable communities.

Recommends referral to the Committees on Housing and Water, Land, & Ocean Resources for further consideration.
