Notes that Hawaii is one of only three states without continuing education requirements for licensed social workers

Identifies continuing education as necessary to increase professional competence and ensure access to best practices and innovations in social work

Received support from the University of Hawaii Myron B. Thompson School of Social Work, the National Association of Social Workers Hawaii Chapter, and eight individuals

Committee on Commerce and Consumer Protection recommends adoption of the measure
