Requests the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism, in cooperation with the University of Hawaii, Kapiolani Community College, and the Hawaii Tourism Authority, to develop a plan examining long-term uses of the Hawaii Film Studio Diamond Head campus

Plan should consider impacts to adjacent neighborhoods, solicit community input, and examine the feasibility of expanding the Diamond Head campus to accommodate increased production activity

Committees recommend that surrounding communities be seriously consulted during plan development given concerns about film studio impacts on the neighborhood

Committees suggest that a second large-scale studio facility may be necessary to support the film and television industry, and propose the Diamond Head campus could be converted to workforce development use if a new studio is built
