Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism requested to convene a gambling task force to analyze financial and social costs and benefits of various gambling types including lottery, casino, slots, table games, horse and dog racing, sports betting, bingo, and internet gaming

Task force directed to assess financial viability of each gambling type in Hawaii and determine revenue distribution percentages for administration, prizes, retailers, and state coffers

Task force composition includes representatives from Department of Health, Department of Business Economic Development and Tourism, Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Department of Budget and Finance, five Senate members selected by Senate President, and five House members selected by Speaker

Task force members receive no compensation but Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism reimburses necessary expenses including travel

Task force required to report findings and recommendations to Governor and Legislature no later than October 1, 2012, with task force dissolution scheduled for June 30, 2013
