Office of Planning requested to convene a task force to review all state and county land use practices and develop recommendations to reduce urban sprawl and properly develop urban areas.

Task force to develop recommendations for counties to revise laws reflecting strategic land use practices for main street redevelopment that support public transportation.

Task force membership includes the Director of the Office of Planning, Chairperson of the Land Use Commission, Director or Deputy Director of each county planning agency, and representatives of stakeholders selected by the Governor.

Task force must submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature and county councils no later than twenty days before the 2013 Regular Session convenes.

Task force members receive no compensation but are reimbursed for necessary expenses including travel costs.
