Requests the Department of Education to establish a task force on cheerleading to determine whether cheerleading should be classified as an interscholastic sport in public school athletic programs.

Task force composition includes three cheerleading coaches appointed by the Governor, two public high school athletic department representatives appointed by the Superintendent of Education, one member appointed by the President of the Senate, and one member appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Task force must assess the appropriateness, feasibility, and impact of classifying cheerleading as an interscholastic sport, including insurance and budgetary requirements.

If deemed appropriate, the task force must create an implementation plan for including cheerleading as an interscholastic sport in the Department of Education.

Task force must submit final findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than June 30, 2013, and cease to exist on that date.
