Requests the Department of Education and Board of Education to establish a Green Hawaii program requiring all public schools, including charter schools, to perform at least five "Green Hawaii" projects each school year beginning with the 2015-2016 school year.

Green projects include recycling plastic and aluminum containers, composting grass and landscaping cuttings, vermi-composting for organic gardens, xeriscape landscaping with native flora, and organic gardening.

Aims to teach students civic responsibility, environmental stewardship, patience, and delayed gratification while fostering respect for agriculture as a career path.

Projects are designed to reduce school budgets through resource conservation and reuse while potentially generating funds for other student initiatives.

Directs certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Superintendent of Education, Board of Education, and the Hawaii State Student Council.
