Department of Education requested to establish a Memorandum of Agreement with Aha Kauleo Kaiapuni Hawaii for developing Hawaiian-language assessments in reading, math, science, and other subjects for grades three through six of the Hawaiian Language Immersion Program

Assessments must be original Hawaiian-language versions (not translations of English state assessments) and aligned with the program's vision, state academic standards, and federal requirements

Board of Education and Department of Education urged to formally acknowledge Aha Kauleo Kaiapuni Hawaii in Hawaii Revised Statutes or Hawaii Administrative Rules

All ancillary assessment materials and tools available to general state assessment students must also be made available in Hawaiian language to Hawaiian Language Immersion Program students

Department of Education required to report on Memorandum of Agreement status to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2013 Regular Session convenes
