Director of the Executive Office on Aging is requested to establish a long-term care financing task force to study the feasibility of a modest, public, long-term care insurance program in Hawaii.

Task force shall include the EOA Director as Chair, six individuals from long-term care and insurance industries (three selected by Senate President, three by House Speaker), one Senate member, and one House member.

Task force must address eleven specific issues including eligibility age limits, employment definitions, premium collection methods, benefit lengths and amounts, financing requirements, and which executive department should administer the program.

Task force members shall not receive compensation but will be reimbursed for necessary expenses including travel costs.

Task force must submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2013 Regular Session and shall be dissolved on June 30, 2013.
