Requests the Senate Committees on Hawaiian Affairs and Economic Development and Technology to convene a special task force on Hawaiian historical sites preservation.

Task force focuses on five priority properties: Washington Place, 'Iolani Palace, Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum, Hulihee Palace, and Mauna Ala (Royal Mausoleum).

Washington Place and 'Iolani Palace are designated National Historic Landmarks; the other three properties are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Committees received supporting testimony from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, 'Iolani Palace, and the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs.

Committees acknowledge that other historical sites statewide, including ancient fishponds and cemeteries, merit preservation and encourage future legislative action on those sites.
