HI HB1314

Authorizes the Department of Agriculture to require beer labels using "Hawaii" or "Hawaiian" names, adjectives, or Hawaiian words/symbols to include the word "brand" in lettering at least one-half the size of the geographical reference.

Allows the Department to request additional clarifying language on beer labels if the word "brand" alone does not dispel the false impression that the beer was produced in Hawaii or a specific Hawaiian region.

Requires beer labels bearing Hawaiian brand names, adjectives, or Hawaiian words/designs to display the name and address of the bottler and the location where the beer was bottled or canned.

Permits the bottler's principal place of business to be shown instead of the actual bottling location, provided bottling or canning occurs at that address.

Takes effect on July 1, 2112.
