Urges the Legislature to verify and insert the correct history of the Battle of Kakanilu'a into archeological reports, cultural impact statements, State Historic Preservation Division records, public libraries, and digital collections.

Requests that Maui County ban sand mining and refuse grading permits involving sand removal in the Waikapu sand dune area (parcel TMK (2) 3-8-007:101) as ordered by the Maui/Lanai Islands Burial Council in December 2008.

Urges Maui County Council to designate the remaining Waikapu sand dune area as park and preservation land as specified in the Maui Island Plan Protected Areas Diagram adopted in December 2012.

Acknowledges that over 3,000 individuals died during the two-day Battle of Kakanilu'a in the 1700s in the Waikapu and Wailuku sand dunes, with descendants seeking to commemorate their ancestors and preserve this historical site.
