Requests the Director of Health to establish a task force to study the effects of atrazine on human health in Hawaii.

Task force to include the Chairperson of the Board of Agriculture, Speaker of the House, two House-appointed members, two Senate-appointed members, and a representative from a community environmental group.

Department of Health to serve as chairperson and provide all administrative, technical, professional, and clerical support to the task force.

Task force must report findings and recommendations to the Legislature by October 31, 2013, and cease operations on June 30, 2014.

Resolution notes that over 60 million pounds of atrazine are used annually in the United States, atrazine is used in Hawaii for sugarcane, pineapple, and seed corn, and Hawaii drinking water tests show contamination with low levels of atrazine.
