High Technology Development Corporation is requested to establish a five-year hydrogen fueling station demonstration project from July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2018.

The demonstration project shall be operated through public and private partnerships between the High Technology Development Corporation and state, county, and private entities.

High Technology Development Corporation must submit annual reports to the Legislature no later than 20 days before the convening of Regular Sessions from 2014 through 2018, including any proposed legislation.

Resolution addresses Hawaii's dependence on imported petroleum (nearly 90 percent of energy requirements) and the environmental benefits of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, which produce zero emissions compared to gasoline and diesel vehicles.
