Request the Department of Health to issue vital certificates (birth, marriage, divorce, and death) containing Hawaiian-language names with the same accuracy and processing speed as non-Hawaiian-language names.

Address community concerns that the Department of Health processes vital records with Hawaiian-language names more slowly due to the names' length and punctuation characteristics.

Acknowledge that the Hawaiian language is an official language of the State of Hawaii and that all community members deserve timely and accurate vital records processing.

Require transmission of certified copies of this resolution to the Director of Health and the Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs.
