Department of Agriculture requested to create and oversee an Agricultural Theft Task Force to address ongoing theft problems facing Hawaii's farmers.

Task Force directed to design an Agricultural Theft Awareness and Prevention Program and submit report to Legislature no later than twenty days before 2014 Regular Session, with proposed legislation included.

Task Force to evaluate potential program components including internet-based theft reporting systems, standardized electronic crime reporting forms, law enforcement training in non-English languages, navigational devices for rural patrols, and public service announcements about agricultural crime penalties.

Task Force membership to include Director of Agriculture, Director of Public Safety, Attorney General, Director of Finance, relevant legislative committee chairs, and one police representative from each county.

Task Force dissolved on June 30, 2014, with certified copies of resolution transmitted to relevant state departments and county police chiefs.
