Urges the Commission on Salaries to suspend an automatic $12,808 annual salary increase for state legislators scheduled to take effect July 1, 2013.

Requests extension of the existing salary reduction for legislative members, which was set to expire on June 30, 2013.

Cites Hawaii's economic challenges including growing poverty and homelessness rates, unstable job market, and continuing financial hardship among residents despite slight improvements in inflation and unemployment rates.

Notes that previous salary reductions were implemented under Act 85 (2009) and Act 48 (2012) in response to the state's economic uncertainty and $1.1 billion budget shortfall.

Directs certified copies be sent to the Chairperson and Members of the Commission on Salaries.
