Urges Hawaiian Electric Company, Inc. to return its call center operations from the mainland United States back to Hawaii.

Notes that Hawaiian Electric Company and its subsidiaries provide electricity to approximately 95% of Hawaii's residents and operate as substantially a monopoly in the State.

States that returning call center operations to Hawaii would reduce unemployment by providing new job opportunities for Hawaii residents.

Argues that because Hawaiian Electric Company derives the vast majority of its profits from Hawaii's electric ratepayers, the company has a duty to offer employment opportunities to Hawaii residents.

Directs certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the President and Chief Executive Officer of Hawaiian Electric Company for distribution to all board members.
