Request the Board of Regents and President of the University of Hawaii to give preference to local candidates when hiring for executive personnel positions.

University of Hawaii has historically hired out-of-state candidates for executive positions including University President, Manoa Chancellor, Athletic Director, and Football Coach.

University of Hawaii paid over $2,500,000 in executive contract buyouts over the last 12 years, many involving out-of-state hires.

University currently hired a search firm for up to $90,000 to find a new Athletic Director rather than considering local candidates.
