Request the City and County of Honolulu to pave and adequately maintain Kamilonui Road in Hawaii Kai to support the local farming community and provide safe access for government services.

Kamilonui Road is in severe disrepair and serves 87 acres of agricultural land on 14 farm lots that comprise Hawaii Kai's last remaining farming community.

The road is used daily by farmers, recreational users, and multiple government agencies including city sanitation, emergency medical services, Board of Water Supply, Department of Agriculture, U.S. Postal Service, and Hawaiian Electric Company.

Kamilonui Valley farmers have only a 13-year remaining lease extension from Kamehameha Schools and cannot finance extensive road repairs that will revert to the landowner upon lease expiration.

Direct certified copies of the resolution to the Mayor, Managing Director, Councilmember Stanley Chang, Hawaii Kai Neighborhood Board No. 1, and Livable Hawaii Kai Hui.
