Urges the United States Congress to award the Congressional Medal of Honor to First Lieutenant John Kuulei Kauhaihao of Honaunau, Hawaii, for extraordinary heroism in combat.

Documents Kauhaihao's service with Company B, 2d Battalion, 8th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile) during a reconnaissance-in-force operation in Tay Ninh Province, Republic of Vietnam.

Describes his heroic actions including hurling more than 30 hand grenades at enemy bunkers over 15 minutes, drawing enemy fire to protect his men, and crawling 100 meters across fire-swept terrain to evacuate wounded soldiers.

Notes that Kauhaihao was mortally wounded by enemy fire while advancing to engage an approaching enemy squad and was previously awarded the Distinguished Service Cross by the President of the United States.

Directs transmission of certified copies of the resolution to the President of the United States and the Hawaii Congressional Delegation.
