Urges the Department of Education to ensure teachers have high-quality curriculum and curricular materials in English language arts and math aligned with Common Core State Standards.

Requests that the Department provide teachers with support and tools to integrate technology into instruction to effectively engage students in learning.

Calls for the Department to implement strategies ensuring all students have access to devices enabling them to use digital curricular materials in the classroom.

Notes research showing 84 percent of teachers use the Internet weekly to find engaging content and that students using computers frequently for writing performed 5 to 19 points higher on 2011 NAEP writing assessments.

Directs certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Superintendent of Education and the Chairperson of the Board of Education.
