Recognizes and commends Dr. Amefil Agbayani and Dr. Doris Ching for strengthening the voices of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in higher education.

Acknowledges that the U.S. Census Bureau projects the Asian American and Pacific Islander population will at least double by 2050, and Hawaii has the highest proportion of this population in the nation.

Commends the editors for publishing the 2012 book "Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in Higher Education: Research and Perspectives on Identity, Leadership, and Success," which gives visibility to a historically excluded population in national diversity and equity research.

Notes that President Barack Obama's goal of making the United States have the highest proportion of college graduates by 2020 requires adequate educational resources and research on Asian American and Pacific Islander student performance, equity, and diversity.

Extends appreciation and aloha to Dr. Agbayani and Dr. Ching for enlightening the nation on the contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in higher education.
