Limits prescriptions for non-long-acting opioid painkillers to a maximum seven-day supply in emergency rooms

Prohibits refilling prescriptions for opioid painkillers that have been lost, stolen, or destroyed

Replaces pharmacist restrictions with physician's assistant restrictions, as pharmacists lack prescribing authority for opioids

Effective date set for July 1, 2050, to encourage further legislative discussion on the measure
