Department of Agriculture requested to create and oversee an Agricultural Theft Task Force to address ongoing theft problems facing Hawaii's farmers.

Task Force directed to design an Agricultural Theft Awareness and Prevention Program with proposed components including an Internet-based communication system, standardized electronic crime reporting forms, language training for law enforcement and agricultural workers, and public service announcements.

Task Force membership to include the Directors of Agriculture, Public Safety, and Finance; the Attorney General; relevant legislative committee chairs; and police representatives from all four counties.

Department of Agriculture required to submit report with proposed program and legislation to the Legislature no later than 20 days before the 2014 Regular Session convenes.

Task Force automatically dissolved on June 30, 2014.
