Designates October 2013 as Brain Injury Awareness Month in Hawaii to increase public awareness and education regarding brain injuries.

Recognizes that brain injury affects 5.3 million Americans, with one person sustaining a brain injury every twenty-one seconds, and annually causes at least 50,000 deaths and 80,000 cases of life-long disabilities.

Acknowledges that brain injury can affect physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and behavioral aspects of an individual's life.

Directs certified copies of the resolution to be transmitted to the Governor, Director of Health, and the Brain Injury Association of Hawaii.
