Encourages University of Hawaii administration to establish and implement a tobacco-free policy prohibiting smoking and all tobacco products for students, faculty, staff, contractors, and visitors on all UH campuses and facilities.

Requests UH administration to implement effective enforcement measures including adequate signage and public information campaigns to support the tobacco-free policy.

Encourages UH to carry out existing executive policy E10.102(D) provisions to discourage tobacco use initiation and help current tobacco users quit.

Notes that 766 colleges and universities nationwide have adopted tobacco-free policies, but no Hawaiian institution of higher education has done so yet.

Directs certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the President of the University of Hawaii and the Chairperson of the Board of Regents.
