Encourages the Department of Land and Natural Resources to lease 17.6 acres of public land (Tax Map Key 6-6-001:010 in Lalamilo) to the County of Hawaii and Waimea Trails and Greenways project.

The leased land would be used as a trailhead and county park, allowing the Waimea Trails and Greenways project's first phase to connect to Kawaiahae Road at two locations.

The land is currently under private lease, with the lessee willing to exchange it for another parcel.

The trail project, initiated in 1994 as a community-based effort and formally adopted by the County in 1995, would provide alternative transportation, recreation, and public access to hiking trails in the Waimea area.

The resolution directs that certified copies be transmitted to the Mayor of the County of Hawaii and Waimea Trails and Greenways.
