Requests the President of the Senate to establish a Geothermal Energy and Technology Working Group to discuss strategies for developing and expanding geothermal energy in Hawaii, including on the island of Hawaii and development of a geothermal energy and technology park.

Working group composition includes the Chairperson of the Board of Land and Natural Resources, Chairperson of the High Technology Development Corporation, Mayor of Hawaii County, Chairperson of Hawaii County Council, a native Hawaiian cultural expert, a private sector business member, and a community member (with the last three selected by the Hawaii County Mayor).

President of the Senate shall designate a working group member to serve as Chairperson.

Working group must submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2014 Regular Session and dissolves on June 30, 2014.

Certified copies of the resolution shall be transmitted to the President of the Senate, Board of Land and Natural Resources Chairperson, High Technology Development Corporation Chairperson, Hawaii County Mayor, Hawaii County Council Chairperson, and the Director of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism.
