Hawaii Community Development Authority is requested to lease a portion of land in the Kalaeloa Community Development District to the United States Coast Guard District 14 for a facility designated as the Coast Guard Pacific Regional Center at Kalaeloa.

Kalaeloa comprises approximately 3,700 acres of land, including waterfront property, located on the site of the former Barbers Point Naval Air Station bounded by Ewa, Kapolei, and Campbell Industrial Park.

United States Coast Guard District 14 (search and rescue operations) currently headquartered in Honolulu would relocate to Kalaeloa for proximity to Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam and more central location on Oahu.

Kalaeloa currently contains an elementary school, airport, National Guard facilities, Coast Guard air station, University of Hawaii aerospace center, Navy facilities, housing, commercial entities, and recreational areas with most remaining undeveloped.

Certified copies of the resolution are to be transmitted to the Hawaii Community Development Authority and the Commander of the Fourteenth Coast Guard District.
