Requests the Honolulu City and County Council to rename a portion of Cooke Street in Kakaako (between Queen Street and Halekauwila Street) to "Lex Brodie Street" to honor the late businessman.

Recognizes Lex Brodie's legacy as founder of Lex Brodie's Tire Company, established in 1961 in Kaneohe and relocated to 701 Queen Street in 1964, which became known for reliable automotive services.

Highlights Brodie's accomplishments including being named "Man of the Year" by Hawaii Business magazine in 1979, founding the Small Business Association of Hawaii in 1976, and pioneering employee profit-sharing plans.

Notes Brodie's early career as a Waikiki Beach Boy giving surf lessons and canoe rides with Duke Kahanamoku's brother Sam, and his work as a Dole Pineapple Company manager.

Honors Brodie's passing on January 11, 2013, and directs certified copies of the resolution be sent to all Honolulu City and County Council members.
