Urges the Department of Agriculture to designate the Albizia tree (Falcataria moluccana) as a noxious weed pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes section 152-4

Urges the Invasive Species Council to develop and implement a comprehensive interagency plan for control and eradication of Albizia on the island of Hawaii pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes chapter 194

Identifies Albizia as a fast-growing tree with shallow roots and brittle wood that threatens lowland native forests, poses safety hazards from falling trees and branches, and damages utilities

Notes that the Big Island Invasive Species Committee has attempted control efforts but faces challenges due to Albizia's proliferation on public and private lands and insufficient funding

Requires certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Chairperson of the Board of Agriculture and the Invasive Species Council
