Request Board of Education to create coalition addressing development of No Child Left Behind assessments in Hawaiian language for immersion students to more accurately measure academic achievement

Coalition to develop grade-specific assessments in Hawaiian language for language arts, mathematics, and science in Hawaiian language immersion program

Coalition membership to include representatives from Hawaiian language immersion schools, University of Hawaii System, Office of Hawaiian Affairs, Kamehameha Schools, and other relevant entities deemed appropriate by Board of Education

Board of Education to report findings and recommendations to Legislature no later than twenty days before Regular Session of 2014, including timeline for assessment implementation, proposed legislation, and funding requests

Certified copies to be transmitted to Governor, Board of Education Chairperson, Superintendent of Education, University of Hawaii System President, Office of Hawaiian Affairs Chief Executive Officer, and Kamehameha Schools Chief Executive Officer
