Requests President Barack Obama initiate a formal investigation into Federal law enforcement's conduct regarding Reverend Roger Christie's constitutional rights violations.

Reverend Christie, a Hawaii County resident and church minister, was arrested in July 2010 on marijuana-related charges and has been held in Federal detention without trial since that date.

Resolution asserts Christie's detention violates the Sixth Amendment right to a speedy and public trial and the Eighth Amendment prohibition on excessive bail, noting he has no prior criminal record and no violence accusations.

Contends Christie's bail denial as a "danger to the community" may be politically motivated retaliation for his leadership against Operation Green Harvest and efforts to deprioritize marijuana law enforcement in Hawaii County.

Calls upon the President to direct the US Bureau of Prisons to immediately release Christie and investigate whether Federal law enforcement personnel should face civil or criminal liability for his illegal detention.
