Requests the Honolulu City Council to rename a portion of Cooke Street in Kakaako (between Queen Street and Halekauwila Street) to "Lex Brodie Street" in honor of the late businessman.

Lex Brodie (1914-2013) was a prominent Hawaii businessman known for founding Lex Brodie's Tire Company in 1961 and being named "Man of the Year" by Hawaii Business magazine in 1979.

Brodie was a pioneer in business practices, being the first Hawaii employer to offer employees a profit-sharing plan with matching contributions and among the first business owners to appear in his own commercials.

The Lex Brodie's Tire Company received multiple awards including the 2010 Hawaii Better Business Bureau Award for Ethics and Trust and the 2011 National Tire Business Humanitarian Award.

Directs certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to all Honolulu City Council members.
