Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes section 707-711 to add liquor commission investigators to the list of protected persons under assault in the second degree statutes.

Expands paragraph (i) of subsection (1) to include "liquor commission investigator" alongside firefighters and water safety officers as persons whose assault while engaged in duty constitutes second-degree assault.

Defines "liquor commission investigator" as having the same meaning as "investigator" defined in section 281-1.

Does not affect rights, duties, or proceedings that occurred before the Act's effective date.

Takes effect upon approval.
