HB 2020 Summary

• Reduces continuing education requirement for private guards from four hours annually to four hours biennially (every two years).

• Delays implementation of continuing education requirements until the June 30, 2016 renewal cycle instead of the June 30, 2014 deadline.

• Makes permanent the registration and licensure requirements for private guards by repealing the sunset provision in Act 208, Session Laws of Hawaii 2010.

• Adds refresher components on professional image and aloha training to the required continuing education curriculum.
