Restricts farm dwellings and employee housing on agricultural land (Classes A and B soil) to farmers and their immediate family members who actively farm the property, or employees and their immediate families who actively work on the property.

Limits total land area occupied by farm dwellings, employee housing units, and appurtenances to five percent of total agricultural land controlled by the farmer or employer or fifty acres, whichever is less.

Requires farm dwellings and employee housing to meet applicable building codes and prohibit residential subdivision development on agricultural land.

Mandates agricultural plans approved by the department of agriculture to support farm dwelling and employee housing development, with consideration for cluster development to maximize agricultural production area.

Effective date of July 1, 2050.
