Department of Health shall establish a radiation monitoring pilot project measuring radiation levels in food, dairy products, rainwater, aquifers, and drainage ditches potentially affected by the March 11, 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster.

Department must post periodic reports on its website detailing measured radiation levels and their significance to Hawaii.

Pilot project runs from July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2019.

Department shall submit findings and recommendations to the legislature no later than twenty days before the 2019 regular session, including whether to continue, modify, or terminate the project.

Appropriates unspecified general revenue funds for fiscal year 2014-2015 for equipment acquisition, staff training, and website development.
