HB 450 Summary

• Requires the high technology development corporation to establish a hydrogen fueling station demonstration project in counties with populations of at least 170,000 residents for a five-year period from July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2018.

• The demonstration project shall be funded and operated through public and private partnerships between the high technology development corporation, state or county agencies, and private entities.

• Grants preference to suppliers, distributors, and producers of hydrogen produced from renewable sources of energy.

• Appropriates an unspecified sum from general revenues for fiscal years 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 to establish the hydrogen fueling station demonstration projects.

• Requires the high technology development corporation to submit annual reports to the legislature on the demonstration project status by twenty days prior to the regular sessions of 2014 through 2018.
