Appropriates unspecified amounts from general revenues to the University of Hawaii for fiscal years 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 to fund a program coordinator and technical support staff member.

Program coordinator and technical support staff will conduct planning and studies for three proposed aviation training programs: professional helicopter pilot program and professional unmanned aircraft systems pilot program through Hawaii Community College, and professional airplane pilot program through University of Hawaii at Hilo.

Staff will work with chancellors of Hawaii Community College and University of Hawaii at Hilo, an exploratory committee, and the Hilo community to complete necessary studies and planning for program implementation.

Appropriation implements recommendations from an exploratory committee created pursuant to Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 156, S.D. 1 from the 2012 legislative session.

Bill takes effect July 1, 2030.
