Request the Department of Accounting and General Services to work with the Hawaii Emergency Medical Services Association and other interested organizations to plan and construct a Hawaii Emergency Responder and Good Samaritan Memorial at the Hawaii State Capitol.

Sixteen emergency responders not covered by the Hawaii Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation have died in the line of duty in Hawaii, in addition to good Samaritans who may have made the ultimate sacrifice serving their communities.

Private funds are to be solicited and used for the memorial's construction, with consideration given to locating it on the Diamond Head side of the Kalanimoku Building.

The Department of Accounting and General Services is requested to submit a report on its plans, including findings, recommendations, projected costs, and any implementing legislation, to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the Regular Session of 2015.
