Request Department of Transportation to study means of maximizing effectiveness and visibility of road signs along Highway 130 on Hawaii Island

Require study to consider vehicle traffic (35,700 cars daily in 2009 vs. 13,000 in 1999), wayside maintenance including grass and shrub clearing, proper road sign placement, and adequacy of highway lighting

Address safety hazards including overgrown vegetation obscuring road signs, misplaced signs due to changing geologic conditions, and inadequate nighttime lighting

Require Department of Transportation to submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2015 Regular Session convening

Direct transmission of certified resolution copies to the Director of Transportation and Mayor of the County of Hawaii
