Superintendent of Education requested to convene a task force to address bullying in schools, with the Superintendent serving as chairperson.

Task force membership to include the Attorney General, one House member, one Senate member, a licensed attorney, two public school teachers, two parent members, and other interested persons appointed by the Superintendent.

Task force directed to submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than 20 days before the 2015 Regular Session convenes.

Legislative Reference Bureau requested to assist the task force, with a draft report and proposed legislation due to the Bureau by November 1, 2014.

Resolution notes that one-third of middle and high school students report being bullied annually, with disabled students two to three times more likely to be victims than non-disabled peers.
