Department of Health is requested to conduct a feasibility study on establishing a holiday light recycling program in Hawaii.

Study should examine what types of organizations or businesses could implement a holiday light recycling program through partnerships.

Department of Health must submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the 2015 Regular Session.

Recycling program would address Hawaii's waste management challenges by collecting and separating copper, glass, and other materials from holiday lights for reuse.

Proceeds from recycling holiday lights could generate revenue for state programs and services needing additional funding.
