Request that the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii Authority (NELHA) Executive Director rename the NELHA Gateway Center to "The Guy Toyama Gateway Center at the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii Authority"

Honor Guy Hideo Toyama, a world-renowned leader in deep seawater technology, renewable energy, and sustainable fuels who died in 2012 at age 42

Recognize Toyama's contributions including partnership in Hawaii's first deep seawater desalination plant, development of hydrogen as transportation fuel through H2 Technologies, and instrumental role in establishing a U.S.-Japanese partnership for Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion technology

Acknowledge Toyama's community service including roles with the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce, Kanu Hawaii, Hawaii County Mayor's Energy Advisory Commission, and establishment of a Sister City relationship with Kumejima Island in Okinawa

Direct certified copies be transmitted to the NELHA Executive Director, Director of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism, and Mayor of Hawaii County
