Request the Hawaii Invasive Species Council to provide opportunities for various stakeholders to provide input regarding control of invasive albizia trees through partnerships with island-based Invasive Species Committees.

Encourage the Council to solicit participation from individuals and organizations/agencies in both public and private sectors in areas throughout the State affected by invasive albizia.

Transmit certified copies of the concurrent resolution to the Chairperson of the Board of Land and Natural Resources, Chairperson of the Board of Agriculture, Coordinator of the Hawaii Invasive Species Council, and respective Chairs of the Big Island, Kauai, Maui, Molokai, and Oahu Invasive Species Committees.

Recognize that albizia trees are fast-growing, brittle non-native species that block sunlight to native plants, have weak root systems prone to falling in storms, and pose public safety hazards.

Acknowledge that albizia impacts differ by location and require control responses that account for diverse interests and concerns of affected residents.
