Urges the Department of Transportation to prohibit heavy trucks (vehicles with gross weight of 10,000 pounds or more) from driving in the left-most lane of interstate highways except during lane closures, accidents, and emergency situations

Notes that more than 20 states already have laws restricting heavy trucks from the left-most lane and that studies show such restrictions improve traffic flow and safety

References Louisiana State University case studies indicating lane restrictions reduce overall crash rates by approximately 10 percent

Directs transmission of certified copies of the resolution to the Director of Transportation and chiefs of police of Hawaii Police Department, Honolulu Police Department, Kauai Police Department, and Maui Police Department
