Declares 'A'ā (lava rock) as the Hawaii state rock to honor the creation of the State and its cultural significance.

Recognizes that volcanoes have deep cultural importance to Native Hawaiians and current residents, and that the Hawaiian islands are volcanic in origin.

Notes that 'A'ā is one of three basic types of lava rock characterized by a rough, jagged, and clinkery surface, and is the rarest of the three types.

Requires certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Governor, President of the Senate, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Chairperson of the Board of Land and Natural Resources.
