University of Hawaii is requested to conduct a study examining the correlation between sexual abuse and post-traumatic stress disorder in Hawaii's female inmate population.

Study findings and recommendations must be reported to the Legislature no later than 20 days before the convening of the 2015 Regular Session.

All information gathered pertaining to individual names or identifications must be kept confidential.

Resolution acknowledges that sexual assault is common in prisons nationwide and notes the Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003 was enacted to address this issue.

Certified copy of the resolution shall be transmitted to the President of the University of Hawaii.
